چکیده

It was suggested that the brain-heart connection is asymmetrically organized. However, evidence connecting neurochemical factors from each brain hemisphere with changes in cardio-vascular functions have not yet been reported. In order to analyze potential asymmetrical connections between functions, we studied level of correlations left and right frontal cortex (FC) soluble (Sol) membrane-bound (MB) neuropeptide-degrading enzymes alanyl (AlaAP), cystinyl (CysAP), glutamyl (GluAP) aminopeptidase activities, involved among others metabolism angiotensins, heart rate (HR), systolic (SBP), diastolic (DBP) blood pressure, rats treated or hypotensive hypertensive drugs such as captopril, propranolol L-NAME. The present study suggests existence a bidirectional these neuropeptidases functions. Specifically, depending on treatment, control group, Sol AlaAP FC correlates negatively SBP DBP. captopril-treated animals, MB CysAP GluAP correlate HR. L-NAME rats, No significant were observed group. Considering together all values obtained four groups regardless drug results demonstrated negative neuropeptidase mainly cortex, levels pressure. Remarkably, findings contrast drastically previously reported indicating positive other peripheral water intake diuresis. Both represent noteworthy information strongly supports concept asymmetric organization neurovisceral integration involving processes physiological most probably mediated by autonomic nervous system. Overall, suggest cognitive may be connected processes, vice versa.

the evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Monitoring for target objects: activation of right frontal and parietal cortices with increasing time on task.

The right prefrontal and parietal cortices have been implicated in attentional processing in both neuropsychological and functional neuroimaging literature. However, attention is a heterogeneous collection of processes, each of which may be underpinned by different neural networks. These attentional networks may interact, such that engaging one type of attentional process could influence the ef...

the effects of cooperative versus individual directed reading thinking activities on students inferential and referential questions

two groups of students were assigned as experimental and control ones, and were given instruction on directed reading-thinking activities and after some treatment, they were post-tested. although the initial pre-test did not show any significant differences, the final post-test result revealed that the cooperative reading comprehension helped the experimental group. the cooperative students’...
